IT specialist in logistics

What do you do as a WMS Consultant?

As a WMS Consultant at XPO Logistics you will be working within one of the largest supply chain organizations in the world. You are involved in WMS projects/changes for a wide range of international customers on a daily basis. The function focuses on collecting business requirements and translating them into an optimal IT solution. You will also be responsible for testing, implementing, supporting and providing training on the WMS system. For larger projects you will work together with your (IT) colleagues. For small projects/changes, you mainly work together with the XPO operation.

Other activities:

• Collecting, clarifying and translating (customer) business requirements into detailed functional designs.
• Creating an IT blueprint for larger projects
• Configuring WMS parameters
• Analysis of the interface requirements and translating them into interface mapping specifications
• Implementation and configuration of the software developments, in line with the XPO IT OTAP strategy
• Evaluate and maintain the quality of functional and technical IT documentation
• Creating test scenarios, preparing test data, performing functional tests, reporting on test progress & results and monitoring issues.
• Training of WMS Key users
• 2nd line IT support. Go live support for larger projects and create documentation to the 1st line IT organization.

Job Requirements:

• HBO/WO working and thinking level, acquired through education or work experience
• Excellent knowledge of WMS systems at configuration level
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project organizations
• Knowledge of drafting functional specifications
• Knowledge of database design; SQL and reporting techniques
• Knowledge of logistics warehouse processes, preferably in a 3PL environment
• Excellent knowledge of the Dutch and English languages in words and in writing
• Flexible (no 9 to 5 mentality) and willing to travel within and outside the Netherlands

Your work environment:

You will work in the IT department, where IT is provided for all XPO sites in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. You will be part of a team that deals with IT projects and changes for existing and new XPO business. You report to the Manager Business IT Solutions.
